Another great show weekend!

Nova's Ausable Trick or Treat's daughter - Clear Sky's Candy Kisses again won her class - placing first in a highly competitive class of 11. Candy went on to again receive the Reserve Color Champion Banner. Two weekends in a row and two RCC banners - this is one fabulous female! (so happy about repeating the breeding that produced her!)

Clear Sky's Lunar Shadow, at just a year old, took a 2nd in his class of 5! This was Shadow's 2nd weekend out in the ring and the judges are giving him great compliments. Typey head, great conformation, wonderful fleece.

photos soon.

Great Weekend at the Alpaca Show!

Clear Sky's Lunar Shadow - Blue Ribbon!

Clear Sky's Lunar Shadow - Blue Ribbon!

This weekend the MIAF alpaca show was held in Grand Rapids, MI. We attended with 4 males entered.

Clear Sky's Candy Kisses, daughter of our Nova's Ausable Trick or Treat, who we sold in the Spring was shown by her new owners. We were ecstatic when she took Black Female Reserve Color Champion! The breeding that produced Candy Kisses is being repeated and we couldn't be happier!

Each of our males brought home ribbons. The most exciting was Clear Sky's Lunar Shadow who brought home a first place blue ribbon from a competitive class of 3. Also shown this weekend were Stormy, Copper, and ATM.

Where did the summer go?

WOW! It's hard to imagine it's been a year now since we were stretching the no climb fencing around the perimeter of our farm here near Ionia, Michigan. With our move, the car accident, and Rick's heart surgery now behind us, we are busy skirting and dyeing fiber, felting, and weaving. We've made some great breeding decisions and cant' wait for those 2014 cria to arrive.

We are enjoying sitting on the deck and watching the alpaca graze in the pasture. The corn in the rear acres should be cut soon and the trees along the property lines are turning beautiful colors of red and gold. Fall has arrived - but where did the summer go?

Move Completed Spring Arriving...

Zip son of full Accoyo White Color Champion!

Zip son of full Accoyo White Color Champion!

I'm sitting at the dining table today, looking out the slider and watching the alpaca graze in the new pasture. They are all enjoying the sunshine today. The cria are growing and we will be weaning soon. Shearing is taking place next month and I'm excited about all the wonderful fiber I'll have available for purchase.

Rick and I stretched no climb fencing back in November and December giving us several pastures for rotational grazing. The boys have a huge 3 sided shelter and the girls and cria share the barn. We now have the ability to expand if the need arises.

Our move was completed back in January with the help of some great friends. We lost our cargo van and trailer during a roll over accident. Luckily injuries were minor, animals had already been moved, and many friends came forward and finished up the move for us. We went without internet service until this past week while I concentrated on recovery from my injuries. Can't tell you how much I missed being "online".

Over the next few weeks we'll be updating our photos and listing more of the alpaca. What a great time to schedule a visit! We are so excited about the cria out in the pasture. The breedings for this generation were our decisions and it really looks like we hit the jackpot.

The farm store should be open for business within the next couple of months. Classes are also anticipated to start at that time. New products are being planned and I can't wait for you to see what I'm weaving....

We are moving our farm! Help us reduce our herd....

We need your help....

We've been located in Central Michigan the past two years while caring for Kathy's Dad. Sadly, Dad passed away on March 31, 2012 after a short and unexpected battle with Leukemia. Due to a variety of circumstances, we decided we would like to relocate our farm and fiber business. After searching through out the state, we found a great location with a beautiful ranch home, a huge barn, and fantastic pastures.

The move will be a huge endeavor for us and we would like to do it with fewer animals.

This is the right time for you to add some great genetics to your herd. We are open to all reasonable offers. Call and set a time to come and visit - get your hands on our animals.... You'll be amazed.

(We also have 3 male Papillons available for sale to the right families - email for photos and more information).

Photos of the new place will be posted soon.... keep watching.

and oh, if you love to put up fences - give us a call - we could use your help as we fence the pasture perimeter! Lunch and or dinner included :)

Christmas Arts and Crafts Show - Huge Success!

Thank you to everyone that stopped by our booth this weekend. It was a very enjoyable time talking alpaca and sharing our products. We networked with other vendors and shared information about our luxurious alpaca fiber with the show visitors.

Next weekend we'll be sharing our beautiful alpaca fiber with visitors to the St. Johns Chamber of Commerce Holiday Sale. If you were taking advantage of the "Black Friday" sales this weekend, be sure to visit us next weekend in St. Johns, Michigan!
